The opening of the new club, came as a result of the corporate and private sector demand in the area for which the concept of "lunch break" has advanced from ordinary lunch to "fitness and lunch break". What is Functional Training?

Functional training can be defined as movement or exercise that allows us to perform our tasks with better performance or efficiency, in particular movements that we do daily like taking the stairs, lifting/ pushing/ moving different weights, jumping, climbing. The difference between classic strength training which uses an isolate group of muscles and functional training is the fact that this new type of training involves all the muscles and articulations. The specific exercises require coordination, equilibrium, control and muscle contraction. If we want a functional body then we have to work it out with functional training exercises.

What equipment we use in Functional Training?

Training methods are new and fun. Different gear is used - TRX, RIP-TRAINER, KETTLEBELL, GYMSTICK, ROPES, TRAMPOLINE, MEDICINE BALL, SWISSBALL, BOSU or simply your own body weight.

“Total investment for the 9th World Class club is around 900.000 Euros, representing both the construction and equipment costs, divided between the owners of America House and World Class. In accordance with our aim of having between 15 to 20 clubs by 2014 we are in negotiations for several new locations. Signed and confirmed, new locations include - World Class Titan, which will open later this year and also the beginning of the Floreasca pilot club construction, a 4000 sqm club that will offer a completely unique and exclusive experience under a new brand” said Mikael Fredholm - CEO World Class International.

Doing an active asset management strategy since 2011, AEW Europe has succeeded to extend the lease contracts of tenants long settled in America House, representing over 13.000 sqm of office space (Tuca Zbarcea & Associates, Deloitte, Embassy of Japan) and rented 4.100 sqm of vacant office space and retail, which was an important achievement given the difficult real estate market today. “However, our work has not ended, we’ll continue renting 3.500 sqm of office space in America House, together with Jones Lang LaSalle, who was appointed as exclusive agent for this rental space”, said Isabelle Clerc, Head of Asset Management, AEW Europe in Central Europe. Jones Lang LaSalle was also responsible for the transaction of the rental of the World Class space of 920 sqm in America House.

World Class International is one of the largest fitness chains in Europe currently holding offices in over 14 countries in Europe and the Middle East. Romania is the most important element, totaling nine centers.
